The General Technology Machine Tool Industry is strategically positioned in East China for three key reasons: first, to align with the national strategies of building a manufacturing powerhouse and promoting balanced regional development, leveraging the region’s economic dynamism and innovation strengths to integrate into advanced manufacturing industry clusters, thereby ensuring the autonomous and controllable operation of the machine tool value chain and facilitating economic transformation and upgrading; second, to fulfill the mission and responsibilities of a central state-owned enterprise and serve as a model and leader in the industry by implementing initiatives such as deepening industry–university–research–application collaboration and synergistic innovation, establishing a high-level science and technology innovation system, cultivating a core force that safeguards the stable operation of the value chain, and fostering a mutually beneficial and win-win ecosystem across the value chain, thus continuously advancing value-chain development; third, capitalizing on East China’s pronounced economies of scale, the concentration of advanced manufacturing clusters, and robust demand for high-end machine tool equipment, the region is being developed into a “high-end intelligent manufacturing base and market-response center” that delivers integrated “machine tool + process + service” solutions, providing customers with more high-quality value-added services; and fourth, addressing the imbalance in the Group’s regional machine tool industry deployment—specifically, the disconnect between production bases and developed regions—by seizing the opportunities presented by the deep integration of the Yangtze River Delta to optimize industrial layout and support the Group’s own high-quality development.
This strategic realignment in East China represents a key implementation of the Group’s 15th Five-Year Plan. Leveraging the East China strategy as a pivotal lever, the Group will deepen its engagement in the vibrant manufacturing hub of the Yangtze River Delta, optimize industrial deployment, promote self-reliance and controllability across the industrial value chain, foster new drivers of productivity, and contribute to the region’s high-quality economic development. In line with the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee’s directive to “adopt extraordinary measures and drive breakthroughs across the entire industrial chain in critical core technologies in key areas such as machine tools,” the Group will mobilize all its resources to achieve groundbreaking progress in the field of industrial machine tools, thereby lending the strength of a central state-owned enterprise to the national strategy for building a manufacturing powerhouse.
